You and me, Day by Day

What is the purpose of the study?

Adolescence is an important developmental period that brings many challenges. It is often the time when the first dating experiences occur. The You and me, Day by Day project focuses on conflict management in adolescent dating relationships. We are currently recruiting couples to better understand what happens when two partners disagree and how each partner can influences the behaviors and emotions of the other on a daily basis.

Who can participate?

To participate in this study, each partner must:

  • Be aged between 14 and 18 years;

  • Not have children;

  • Not cohabitate with their partner;

  • Have access to the internet every day;

  • Understand and read French.

Nature of your participation

  • Each partner will first need to complete an ONLINE QUESTIONNAIRE (45 min.) about their life experiences, opinions, and feelings.

  • Then, FOR 21 DAYS, each partner must complete a SHORT QUESTIONNAIRE (about 10 min.) On the exchanges that took place within their relationship during the day. The daily questionnaires will be sent every evening by text message (SMS) or email.

Advantages?

You could receive up to $90 ($180/couple) by participating in this study. You will receive $6 for the initial questionnaire and $4 for each daily questionnaire that you complete. In addition, if you complete at least 18 of the 21 daily questionnaires, you will have a chance to win a $250 gift certificate at a shopping center of your choice.

You could also receive by email a summary of the study's key findings and learn more about healthy dating relationships.

Confidential?

All information obtained through the online questionnaires will be kept strictly confidential and automatically transmitted to a secure database.
